It connects an MCP-compatible AI assistant to the websites and capabilities your Hitsteps user is allowed to access. You can ask analytics questions in plain language, request follow-up analysis, and use separately authorized operational tools.
What is an MCP server?
Model Context Protocol, or MCP, is an open way for AI assistants to use trusted tools and data sources. The Hitsteps MCP server gives a connected assistant structured analytics and operations tools instead of making it guess from pasted screenshots or exported spreadsheets.
Can the AI assistant change my Hitsteps account?
Not with a read-only analytics grant. Write tools require the matching OAuth scope, the signed-in user must already have permission, and every change requires explicit confirmation plus an idempotency key before Hitsteps performs it.
Does Hitsteps store my AI prompts?
Hitsteps MCP usage telemetry does not store prompt text, tool arguments, model tokens, raw user agents, analytics result rows, or full error messages. It keeps limited operational fields such as public OAuth client ID, normalized AI-client channel, tool name, status, duration, credential type, account or website scope, and time for 90 days.
