Find your Hitsteps API key and tracking code

Plugins usually need your API key. Manual HTML installs need the full JavaScript tracking code. Both are available after you add a website to Hitsteps.

Good to know

  • API key is different from the full tracking code. Use the one your platform guide asks for.
  • For Shopify, install from the Shopify App Store instead of pasting custom tracking code.
  • If you use a cache plugin or CDN, clear cache after adding the code.
