Flexible condition builder
Combine supported visitor name and profile fields, country and location, device and browser details, hosting or connection signals, first-touch source and UTM or ad attribution, pages, referrers, searches, and more.
Hitsteps Segments combine saved analytics and future live matching in one definition, so you can investigate the same audience repeatedly and respond when new visitors meet its conditions.
Use the same carefully tested rule as a saved visitor filter, an analytical audience with eligible retained history, and a prospective live matcher. This avoids maintaining separate objects that slowly stop agreeing with each other.
Combine supported visitor name and profile fields, country and location, device and browser details, hosting or connection signals, first-touch source and UTM or ad attribution, pages, referrers, searches, and more.
Add separate custom Action key/value pairs when intent depends on several behaviors, such as cart_category = clothes and item_color = yellow, while keeping country or campaign conditions in the same Segment.
Review safely reconstructable historical matches within the supported retention window, then use the unchanged definition for future matching, optional alerts, and Funnel stages.
Use it when you need live visitor context, practical installation routes, and action tools around the traffic you already have.
Hitsteps has kept evolving across website platforms, browser changes, analytics shifts, and store workflows.
WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Google Tag Manager, HTML, CMS, commerce, browser, and desktop setup paths are documented from one hub.
Live dashboard, visitor profiles, heatmaps, chat, Segments, uptime, reports, and alerts stay connected after tracking is installed.
Hitsteps can reconstruct a safely evaluable Segment from retained visitor activity up to the lesser of 30 days and the history available on the website plan. Historical reconstruction is analytical only: it never sends old notifications and never advances or backfills Funnel stages.
Open the Segment builder directly or begin with filters in Recent Visitors. Choose the audience you need to understand, such as German visitors from a campaign who searched for a product and performed specific Actions.
Add only conditions that must all be true. Repeat Action conditions as separate key/value groups instead of combining unrelated keys or values into one field.
Use the Segment test control to open the corresponding Recent Visitors filters, inspect the visitors returned, and adjust the definition before relying on it for ongoing analysis or alerts.
Save the tested rule, allow eligible retained activity to be reconstructed, and review future matches. Configure desktop, sound, or email notifications only when an immediate response is useful.
Combine first-touch UTM or ad attribution with location, landing or visited pages, internal searches, and conversion-related Actions to isolate a campaign audience worth following.
Find visitors who searched for a topic, viewed relevant pages or videos, and recorded several custom product, category, cart, or content Action values.
Narrow activity by browser, operating system, device, connection or hosting signals, geography, visitor identity, pages, and Actions to reproduce a problem for the affected audience.
Clear answers about what this feature reports, how to use it, and where its limits are.
The builder supports a broad set of visitor profile, location, technology, connection, first-touch acquisition and ad attribution, page, referrer, search, and Action conditions. Available choices depend on the signals collected for the website. Conditions in one Segment use AND logic, and another Segment cannot be nested as a condition.
Yes. You can add up to 50 separate Action key/value conditions, and each pair remains independently searchable. For example, a Segment can require cart_category = clothes, item_color = yellow, and Country = Germany at the same time.
When its conditions can be evaluated safely from retained data, Hitsteps can reconstruct analytical matches up to the lesser of 30 days and the history available on the website plan. Those historical matches do not send notifications or advance Funnels; those effects apply only to future live matching.
